The Sport Management minor prepares students interested in working in the sport industry. The Sport Management minor is designed to gives students majoring in other disciplines such as business, communications, kinesiology, and marketing an opportunity to learn about the sport industry. The coursework in the minor provides students with a foundational knowledge of the sport industry as well as core knowledge related to the sport industry such as finance, marketing, socio-cultural aspects, and legal aspects.
The Sport Management minor was made available students beginning with the 2024-25 academic year. Specific requirements for the minor can be found in the Undergraduate Catalog.
Students minoring in Sport Management and are active members of Partners in Sports are eligible for the Partners in Sports Professionalism Award. This award is given to the student(s) who are minoring in Sport Management and display a professional demeanor in and out of the classroom, are respectful of others, strive for excellence, and are dedicated to the mission of Partners in Sports. Selection criteria include professionalism, engagement in professional development opportunities, and integrity.
