Scholarships and Awards Application
Undergraduate and graduate Sport Management students who are current members of Partners in Sports are eligible to apply for the Partners in Sports Scholarships. Membership must be renewed each year as it is annual membership. A committee consisting of Recreation and Sport Management faculty will review the materials submitted by each applicant. The deadline to apply for the 2023-2024 academic year is 5 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2024.
Undergraduate students are eligible if they:
- Are a current student in good academic standing with the University;
- Have successfully completed 30 hours of undergraduate coursework at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville by June 1, 2024;
- Have a declared Sport Management major;
- Are a current and active member of Partners in Sports.
Master’s students are eligible if they:
- Are a current student in good academic standing with the Graduate School and University;
- Have been admitted into the Recreation and Sport Management master’s program with a concentration in Sport Management;
- Have completed 15 hours of graduate course at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville by June 1, 2024;
- Are a current and active member of Partners in Sports.
Required Materials for Application
Academic Performance:
- Submit complete college transcripts or academic histories of colleges or universities attended other than the University of Tennessee
- University of Tennessee academic history
The selection committee will review each student’s complete college transcript with a particular emphasis on academic performance within the major.
Related Experience:
- Cover letter – Should explain the applicant’s professional development activities and also include all participation with Partners in Sports activities.
- Resume – Include related experiences to any job, internship, practicum or volunteer work completed in the area of recreation and sport management.
Each student applying for a Partners in Sports Scholarship and Award is required to submit a cover letter and resume. The cover letter will explain the student’s reasons for the scholarship/award application. Related experience refers to any job, internship, practicum or volunteer work completed in the area of recreation and sport management. Applicants must also include all participation with Partners in Sports activities.
Professional Potential:
- One letter of reference from a professional reference.
